The Purpose Hood River Soaring is to Advance The Science and Art of Motorless Flight: to Study and Research The Scientific Techniques of Soaring In The Meteorological Conditions of Hood River Valley and Surrounding Environs and to Make Its Findings Available to The Public; to Educate Students Pilots Youth Organizations and The Public About Motorless Flight; to Provide and or Make Available to Its Members The Flying Facilities and Equipment for Motorless Flight On A Non-profit Basis; and to Encourage Promote for Training of Its Members Including Special Outreach Programs for Youth Introducing Them to The Knowledge Skill and Practices of Motorless Flight.
